"NO" window sticker in Great King Street in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town prior to the 2014 Independence Referendum. Almost everywhere outside the New Town was adorned with "YES" stickers. The historic power of the gentry prevailed, however, as Edinburgh failed to vote for independence.
